Serengeti wildebeest migration. The great Serengeti wildebeest migration is the movement of vast numbers of the Serengeti's wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant's gazelle, Thompson's gazelle, eland and impala. These move in an annual pattern which is fairly predictable. info@woodlandtrek.co.tz www.woodlandtrek.co.tz

Ngorongoro Highlands Trek This is a unique and active safari experience; a trekking safari provides a welcome break to sitting in a vehicle for days on end. While walking you have the opportunity to stalk wildlife, search for tracks, and mix with indigenous cultures. On our trekking safaris you will generally move camp everyday which requires a simpler, lighter weight camp. We have designed a special walking safari camp: On this walking trip we will use Maasai donkeys to transport the camp. You will only need to carry your small daypack with water and personal gear for the day. book your safari info@woodlandtrek. co.tz woodlandtreks@gmail.com www.woodlandtrek.co.tz

Woodland Trek.co.tz Zanzibar City tour/holiday beach

It may not have a particularly romantic name, but Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, little changed in the last 200 years. It is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques and grand Arab houses whose original owners vied with each other over the extravagance of their dwellings. This one-upmanship is particularly reflected in the brass-studded, carved,  wooden doors  – there are more than 500 different examples of this handiwork. You can spend many idle hours and days just wandering through the fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways. book for your safari to zanzibar Now: info@woodlandtrek.co.tz www.woodlandtrek.co.tz

Woodland Trek Safaris Ltd - Chagga culture

The  Chaga  (also called  Wachaga ,  Chagga ,  Jagga ,  Dschagga ,  Waschagga , or  Wachagga ) are  Bantu -speaking  indigenous  Africans and the third largest ethnic group in  Tanzania .  They traditionally live on the southern and eastern slopes of  Mount Kilimanjaro  and  Mount Meru  and near  Moshi . Their relative wealth comes from the favorable climate of the area and successful agricultural methods, which include extensive irrigation systems, terracing, and continuous organic fertilization methods practiced for thousands of years.  They were one of the first tribes in the area to convert to Christianity. This may have given them an economic advantage over other ethnic groups, as they had better access to education and health care as Christians. book your safari now  info@woodlandtrek.co.tz www.woodlandtrek.co.tz

Woodland Trek Safaris ltd - cultural safari

Tanzania has a very diverse culture, ranging from the dominant Muslim Culture on the coast and old slave trade routes, to the nomadic culture of the Masai. In the centre of Tanzania are the hunter gatherer tribes of the Hazabe and Hadza, and the traditional leather wearing herders - the Barabaig. In the south are the Makonde people, famous for their wood carvings. The business like Chagga from Kilimanjaro are the dominant tribe in commerce and government. When travelling to the different locations within Tanzania, you will almost always encounter a village tour in your area, where you will be taken on a crash course of what the culture is like in that area. These trips are very educational, and an interesting way to compare how your culture differs from that of the locals. Wild Things can also take you far from the tourist trail to remote villages for a let touristy experience and see people live their lives the way they do. info@woodlandtrek.co.tz www.woodlandtrek.co.tz

Selous Game Reserve -Woodlandtrek.co.tz

The Selous Game Reserve was specifically set aside as a hunting preserve in 1896. It is the oldest and largest reserve in all of Africa; four times the size of the famed Serengeti, and larger than Switzerland. The Selous contains globally significant populations of buffalo, elephant, lion, leopards and many other species. Within the Selous there is no habitation, no cultivation, no cattle and no fences. The uniqueness, expansiveness and bio-diversity of this natural treasure resulted in it being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. Access to the Selous is strictly controlled, and limited to the clients, invited guests, and staff of the registered safari companies approved by the Tanzanian Government. for bookings contact us info@woodlandtrek. co.tz woodlandtreks@gmail.com www.woodlandtrek.co.tz
